Does Adidas Sell Tennis Rackets?

There are a lot of questions when it comes to tennis rackets: What brand makes the best one? What type should you buy? And, perhaps most importantly, does Adidas sell tennis rackets?

In this blog post, we will answer all of those questions and more.

We will take a look at the history of Adidas and its involvement in the tennis racket market.

So, if you’re looking for a new tennis racket and wonder if Adidas makes or sells tennis rackets – you came to the right place!

Does Adidas make or sell tennis rackets?

The answer is both yes and no.

Adidas used to make wood and metal tennis rackets back in the day, but they stopped production in the 1980s.

However, you can still find Adidas tennis rackets for sale online on eBay for example – but today they are considered collectible items and not a racket you would use to play tennis with.

Nowadays, Adidas focuses on selling tennis apparel and shoes, but they do not produce any rackets themselves.

Does Adidas Sell Tennis Rackets?

What’s happened to Adidas tennis rackets?

Adidas rackets used to be very popular during the 1970s – even the former player Ivan Lendl played with an Adidas GTX racket in the 1980s – a famous graphite frame from Adidas.

But everything changed in the 1980s when graphite tennis rackets became popular and the Adidas’ wooden rackets became too old-fashioned and were not competitive with other new brands on the market that made much more modern rackets.

As a result, Adidas stopped production of their rackets in the late 1980s and now they focus on selling apparel and shoes instead.

But then, in 2008, Adidas’ tennis racket made a mini-comeback with a new racket line named Barricade.

I even had the chance to play with this racket in a very short time, and I can say that it was a very good racket!

But Adidas stopped the production of this racket line again.

So, if you want to buy an Adidas tennis racket today, your only chance is to find one second-hand on eBay or other similar websites.

But be aware that these rackets are quite old and not competitive with the new models from other brands on the market.

Why don’t Adidas sell tennis rackets anymore?

There are many reasons why Adidas doesn’t sell tennis rackets anymore.

First of all, as we mentioned before, they stopped production in the late 1980s because their rackets were not competitive with other newer brands.

Secondly, Adidas is not a very big player in the tennis market – they are much more focused on selling apparel and shoes.

And lastly, it’s simply more profitable for Adidas to sell apparel and shoes than it is to sell tennis rackets.

They tried to make tennis rackets again in 2008, but they found out very fast that it wasn’t worth it and stopped production again.

Even though Adidas is a very famous sports brand, they have a very hard competing with other brands when it comes to tennis rackets.

To be honest, I think that if Adidas would like to be a very strong player in the tennis rackets world – they won’t have any problem.

After all, they are one of the most popular sports brands in the world!

But it seems like they don’t care about being a big player in this market.

They can just decide they are going to be the world’s No. 1 tennis rackets brand in the world – and it will happen.

They have enough money to sign the most famous and successful players in the world, and they can also make the production of the rackets cheap in China as all the major brands (not including Yonex which produces the rackets in Japan) do.

But it seems like they don’t have any intention to do so.

They did give it another try at the end of the 2000s, but it was a very short-lived attempt and they stopped production again,

So, if you’re looking for an Adidas tennis racket today, I’m sorry to say that you won’t find any – at least not new ones.

So, for now, we can just enjoy their tennis apparel and shoes.

At least they did give rackets a chance and tried, ah? not like Nike tennis rackets.

Where can I buy Adidas Barricade Tennis Racket?

If you’re looking for an Adidas Barricade Tennis Racket, your best bet is to find one second-hand on eBay or similar websites.

But be aware that these rackets are quite old and not competitive with the new models from other brands on the market.

Is Adidas a tennis brand?

Adidas is one of the most popular sports brands in the world, but they are not known as a tennis brand.

They used to produce tennis rackets in the 1970s and 1980s, but they stopped production in the late 1980s.

In conclusion

About Me

Hi! I’m Matt Olsen, and I’ve been playing tennis for over 10 years. Tennis is my life!

My favorite part about being a professional tennis player? Playing the game. My least favorite part of this job? Sitting on the bench after having to retire from a match because of an injury (it’s still fun watching the teammates play, though!).

One secret that helps me keep up with all my training? Choosing the best tennis racket that suits me. In fact, it’s one of the reasons why I started this site Tennis on Flame, where I help people find their perfect racket!
